TEACHER, SOUTH BURLINGTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS, SOUTH BURLINGTON, VT
Christie Nold (she/her) lives and works on Abenaki land in Vermont. She is a public middle school teacher in South Burlington, just five miles from her childhood home. Christie also serves on the Teacher Advisory Council for National Geographic alongside educators across the United States and the global community. Prior to teaching in South Burlington, she spent five years engaging in education for sustainability work through teaching on the land at Shelburne Farms as well as two years teaching in a village school in Nedryhailiv, Ukraine. Christie also enjoys organizing alongside #ClearTheAir members, a powerful Twitter community built by Val Brown to disrupt systems of oppression in schools. When not engaging in education, she can often be found hiking along trails, kayaking in local rivers, searching for the world’s best donut, and tweeting @ChristieNold.
